Weicon Anti-Static

Weicon, the manufacturer of adhesives and sealants, has developed an epoxy resin system – Weicon Anti-Static – for the antistatic coating of various surfaces in the industrial sector.

Weicon Anti-Static

The liquid, antistatic 2-component epoxy resin system has a high proportion of fine ceramic fillers. The coating suppresses electrostatic charging, prevents dust accumulation and electric fields in potentially explosive environments. Anti-Static is sprayable and has been specially developed for application with low-pressure equipment.

The system has good chemical resistance and high abrasion resistance. The coating adheres very well on a wide variety of surfaces, even under vibration and stretching, and does not drip. Anti-Static is free of tar and solvents and cures almost without shrinkage.

For coating a wide variety of parts

The system is suitable for coating a wide variety of parts, such as pipes, containers, agitators, stacking containers and many other parts. It facilitates the storage and transport of flammable goods. Weicon Anti-Static can be used in many areas of industry, e.g. in the chemical industry, electromobility, semiconductor industry, maintenance and repair, mechanical and plant engineering, pharmaceutical industry or in the packaging industry. Weicon Anti-Static is suitable in combination with one of the other Weicon Plastic Metal types for a system build-up as an antistatic surface finish.

Plastic Metal

The term Plastic Metal describes epoxy resin systems, which consist of two components, a resin and a hardener. Depending on the type, the resin component is mixed with steel, aluminium powder or mineral fillers, all of which improve the technical characteristics, such as the compressive strength and thermal conductivity. The epoxy resin system is suitable for a broad range of applications in different industrial areas.

Plastic metal can be used, for example, in industrial series production for adhesive bondings, coatings and durable repairs on different materials. 

After mixing the two components, the plastic metal cures at room temperature to a solid, metal-like material, which can then be machined. It can be drilled, milled, sanded or filed, if required.
