What is special about contact adhesives

The contact makes the difference

Contact adhesives belong to the group of physically setting adhesives. These are adhesives that cure without a complex chemical reaction. The adhesive is activated and cures solely by the evaporation of the solvent. In the case of chemically setting adhesives, on the other hand, the adhesive is formed by the chemical reaction of polyaddition, polycondensation or polymerization. Contact adhesives are available as 1-component adhesives, as 2-component systems, and also for spraying, such as our WEICON Spray Adhesive.

Contact adhesives are needed where high initial adhesion is required and the bond needs to be permanently elastic and moisture-resistant. Spray adhesives are used, for example, in textile printing processes or in the DIY sector.
